Welcome to Fifi and Yvette’s (the French tramps’) Laura Bow website! I'm sure you will find all that you seek about the Laura Bow series here. This site includes walkthroughs and character profiles for both games. For those of you that don't know The Laura Bow series is just one of the great Sierra RPG adventure series’, the other great ones include, Gabriel Knight, Kings Quest, Quest for Glory, Space Quest, Police Quest and the hilarious Leisure Suit Larry collection. My personal favorites are GK (Gabriel Knight), QFG (Quest For Glory) LSL (Leisure Suit Larry), and especially LB (Laura Bow), I'm not in to those other quest ones. I like Laura Bow not only because features a playable female character in each game in the series, but because the girl is intelligent and admirable as well as strong willed and opinionated. The Laura Bow series takes place in the late to mid twenties, with the first game taking place in 1925 and the second in late1926.
There are many reasons that this is my favorite of the Sierra adventure series’. First, it takes place in the twenties, my favorite decade. The twenties were a time of transition for America. The time of flappers, women's lib, bootleg alcohol and speakeasies. In just a decade women's style changed more than it ever had before, the necklines were getting lower while the hemlines were getting higher, it was a time of prosperity. Second, the surrounding theme in LB 2 is ancient Egypt, something I have been interested in for years and that I plan to study in the future. For those who do not know Amun Ra is the ancient Egyptian god of the sun, a combination of two earlier gods (Amun, the patron god of Thebes and Re or Ra a sun god). Third, what I mentioned earlier, being able to play a female character with a head on her shoulders, Rosella and Patty just don't measure up, don't you agree?
